Post How to hide the .cda files in Pentaho User Console?

    Hi,
someone knows how to hide the .cda file that appears together with the .wcdf in the "Files" panel in the Pentaho User Console?. I want to see only the .wcdf file there.

    Regards.

    Not possible.

We have a pending improvement for allowing those files to be stored in a sub directory that could be hidden but not supported yet

    Default Workaround

    Hi!

You can do this in this way (for example):

    1) create folder for admin only called for example admin_folder
    2) create subfolder in admin_folder called cda_sources to store cda sources shared for admin only
    3) move your cda files here
    4) change the user rights to cda files to admin(full) and users(execute)

If you can not do this you have to change ACL in pentaho.xml (\pentaho-solutions\system) in part:

    <acl-files>xaction,url,prpt,xdash,xcdf,wcdf,cda,xfusion</acl-files>

    5) change definition of data sources in cde dashboard to external cda files that you moved in step before
    6) enjoy!

pros - you will have folder with wcdf files only
cons - if user knows the names of other cda files that are stored inside this folder, he can't see them but can execute them

    regards,
    Mark

    Hi,

What you can do is the following:

    * Create a new folder within the root of your solution, such as "cdaFiles."
    * Under "cdaFiles" creates a cda with all data sources you need. Or if you have already created elsewhere, cut and paste.
    * Open your Dashboard and the Data Sources, replace each of your Data Sources with the type "CDA Datasource" and complete the information in Name, Path and DataAccess ID.
    * Hide the folder "cdaFiles."

    Regards,

    Marcos

    Default Hide CDA files

Neat; This approach allows to have separate CDA files (safer?, easier-to update?)

What shold be chnaged in ACL in 4) ?
Could you explain point 5) ?

    Hi !

To hide cda files in Pentaho user console for everybody, I comment in "pentaho-solutions/system/cda/plugin.xml" the "<content-types>" part.

I'm having some trouble getting this to work. If I use the external cda datasource I cant see any options for parameters or output options which i use on my current jndi sources. So I dont think i can use the external cda option?

I looked at the plugin.xml but am unsure what to change in here. Have played with the paths but the dashboards dont load after ive moved the cda files to the separate folder...
