Marked this thread sticky as this stuff is nasty to find otherwise.

Is this issue limited to only JDK/JRE 6 u 29 or is it still ongoing in later versions? I have an application that is hanging in 64-bit JDK 7 using sqljdbc4.

    Thanks,

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

this issue was fixed with Java 6 Update 30. Meanwhile I had 2 more of these situations and upgrading to the 30 or 31 release of Java 6 solved this problem.
However, we never used Java 7 so far... so maybe this is a different problem.

    Cheers,

    Tom

Still wondering: Is using Java 7 recommended or not?

    Hi,

I think this warning is outdated
As I already said: The newest Java6-versions do not show this problem. Java7: no information, but I guess that fixes from Java6 also go to Java7.

    Cheers,

    Tom

it will not be good to wait for some time or to be with it immediately as it may be a case that the latest updates may not support all the system configurations universally ..
