Thread: Custom User Tables for Login Authentication

  1. #1

Question Custom User Tables for Login Authentication

    Hi,

I have my own users and roles tables for the application. I want to use the same users and their login information for the pentaho login also. Would it be possible to make some settings that will use my custom user tables for the pentaho user login authentication instead of hibernate in memory tables.

    Thanks,
    Ramya

I believe the following URL explain how to change the security from the default hibernate tables to your own security tables.

    HI ramya,

You will have to create a new table from your table and in that you login user details necessary for authentication should have be updated not inserted. Note: The new table will have only one name that too will be logged in user. You have to set all the actions in login button. For this edit in puc login page. Try this it will work

yes, of course you can do this, I did it eons ago with BI Server 1.7! it used to be acegi but is now spring security. All you have to do is tell the bean:

how the password is encoded in the db ( if at all )
which fields are the user/password fields
where to find the roles and groups.

Have you read through the Wiki entries?

Using just them, I was able to connect my BIServer to MS AD without too much trouble.
