Default No suitable driver found for jdbc:oracle:thin:@

    Hello
I have deployed Pentaho to run on Oracle RDBMS.
when I start Tomcat, I get this error

13:59:40,749 ERROR [JDBCExceptionReporter] No suitable driver found for jdbcracle:thin:@127.0.0.1:1521:tls

could any body tell me how could I fix that error ?

The following lines are some parts of my catalina.out log file

    Hi,

you should put your oracle JDBC-Driver file (usually "ojdbc14.jar" maybe accompanied by "orai18n.jar") in biserver-ce/tomcat/ib
    and in the administration-console/jdbc directory.

    Then everything should be fine.

    HTH,

    Tom

P.S.: Depending on your oracle-version, the file could also be named "ojdbc6-11.2.0.2.jar" or similar... if unsure, open the JAR with a ZIP-Tool and browse the directory structure for:
    oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver.class

    Hi TomS
My Oracle version is 11g and I have copied ("ojdbc14.jar" and "orai18n.jar") to the following paths
    /tomcat/common/lib
    /administration-console/jdbc/
but unfortunately I've got the following error as before
13:59:40,749 ERROR [JDBCExceptionReporter] No suitable driver found for jdbcracle:thin:@127.0.0.1:1521:tls

I couldn't get your purpose about last paragraph which you said. would you please tell me more about the following sentence

P.S.: Depending on your oracle-version, the file could also be named "ojdbc6-11.2.0.2.jar" or similar... if unsure, open the JAR with a ZIP-Tool and browse the directory structure for:
    oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver.class

    thanks

    Hi again,

well, I have a local Oracle 11g installed and in the directory oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/jdbc/lib there are different JDBC-Jar files. This is why I said that the file-name may be different
    from "ojdbc14.jar".

Did you restart your pentaho-server after adding the Jar-Files to these directories?

Also, what kind of driver-class did you specify in your XML configuration files?

    Cheers,

    Tom

    Hi Toms
Yes I restarted pentaho-server after adding the Jar-Files to that directories.
and I could see the pentaho administartion console correctly when I execute start-pac.sh file , but when I execute star-pentaho.sh, I get that error which I told and I couldn't see the pentaho console.
    Regards

    Hi,

hm, this sounds really strange... just for fun: What version do you refer to? It seems to be some pre-3.9 release as the catalina.out points out an "Apache Tomcat/5.5.26"...

    Cheers,

    Tom
